New York Golf School

Our New York location is hosted by the Holiday Valley Golf Club, located on Route 219, 50 miles south of Buffalo, NY and 2 hrs from Rochester.

You can stay on-site on a golf school package, or attend as a "commuter" student.

Our golf school programs are half days (3.5 hours) of instruction. You can take one program or several, depending upon your goals. Morning sessions run 9am to 12:30pm and feature full swing work with the woods, irons and driver. Afternoon sessions take place 1:30pm to 5pm and are devoted to the short game. You'll learn about chipping and putting Tuesday/Thursday/Saturday afternoons, and pitching and bunkers on Wednesday/Friday/Sunday.

Maximum class size is 4 students per instructor.

Every morning, 9am to 12:30pm, we cover the full swing (woods and irons.)
Every afternoon, from 1:30pm to 5pm, is dedicated to the short game.

Short game program:

Afternoon A: Tues, Thur and Sat afternoons, chipping & putting.
Afternoon B: Wed, Fri and Sun afternoons, pitching & bunkers.

Add a 1-hour Lesson with your Pro for $80, plus reduced green and cart fees, subject to availability.

In addition to golf, visitors can enjoy the beautiful pool complex, fine dining, mountain biking and hiking. The small town flavor of nearby Ellicottville is carefully preserved in its historic homes and buildings, unique restaurants and shops.

Golf Instructor: Patrick Hofmann

A distinguished Class A PGA Teaching Professional, Pat has 30 years of combined golf experience as a playing professional and instructor of the game. He brings a vast knowledge of teaching and playing expertise to the Mel Sole Golf School. His simple, fundamental techniques have helped thousands of golfers at all levels. Several junior, collegiate and club champions are listed among those students who have had great success working with Pat.

Holiday Valley Golf Course

Located 50 miles south of Buffalo, NY in the foothills of the Alleghany Mountains, the Holiday Valley Golf Course presents a continual flow of elevation changes and beautiful scenery. The 18 hole, par 72 layout measures 6294 yards with a slope rating of 125 and a course rating of 71.3. The front 9 provides a stern test of golf with a pleasing blend of play. Meticulously groomed greens reward short game specialists, while plush fairways, water hazards and challenging approach shots are a part of each hole. The back 9 is tight and tree-lined. Challenging dog legs, large ravines and narrow fairways require straight and strategic play.

Deposit: 100% of total is required upon booking reservation.

Cancellation policy: Deposit less $50 per person administration fee is refundable up to 30 days prior to start of school starting date. 14 to 30 days prior to school - loss of deposit. Less than 14 days - loss of full amount - unless school can be filled before commencement. The Mel Sole Golf School reserves the right to cancel or reschedule programs as required by unusual circumstances and is not responsible for any loss or inconvenience incurred as a result. On such occasions, fees are refundable or transferable to another date and/or school location of your choice subject to availability.
