Beach Golf School at Pawleys Plantation
Established in 1990, this school for golfers of all ages and abilities
operates year round. Our host golf course is Pawleys Plantation,
an award winning Jack Nicklaus Signature design set among the salt
marshes and giant live oaks of the Carolina lowcountry.
You can stay on-site on a golf
school package, or attend school as a "commuter" student. 3-day
schools start every Monday and Thursday, and include instruction
on all aspects of your long and short game, utilizing the appropriate
practice areas. One and two day schools and private golf lessons are
booked subject to availability.
- Maximum class size is 4 students per instructor.
- Instruction takes place at the learning center each morning
from 9:00am to 12:30pm, or you can choose the afternoon class,
from 1:30pm to 5:00pm.
Included with the 3 day schools is a program on the mental aspects
of golf developed by one of the leading sports psychologists, which
has had exciting results for our students. We use the latest in
computerized teaching equipment to diagnose swing problems and to
monitor results. Your personal take-home drill tape is provided
for follow up practice.

Mel Sole
Mel Sole has once again been named a "Top Teacher

Former South African PGA Tour player Mel Sole is regarded by Phil
Ritson as "possibly the best teacher I've ever come across".
Mel has over 30 years of teaching experience gained internationally
in South Africa, Canada and the USA. His unique approach to the
mental side of golf has produced amazing results for golfers who
have struggled for years. Mel's diversified roster of clients includes
stars in professional sports, CEO's of Fortune 500 Companies, and
many more golfers of all ages and skill levels.
GOLF Magazine consistently ranks Mel as one of the "Top Teachers
in North America." Mel is a teaching editor with GOLF TIPS
Magazine and is the author of the book, Golf
Step-by-Step. Mel's lessons have been featured in Golf Digest and GOLF Magazine.

Patrick Hofmann
A distinguished Class A PGA Teaching Professional, Pat has 30
years of combined golf experience as a playing professional and
instructor of the game. He brings a vast knowledge of teaching
and playing expertise to the Mel Sole Golf School. His
simple, fundamental techniques have helped thousands of golfers
at all levels. Several junior, collegiate and club champions
are listed among those students who have had great success working
with Pat.
Included among Pat's special achievements:
- Low Pro winner in over a dozen Carolinas PGA Pro-ams.
- Top 10 finisher in numerous Carolinas PGA events.
- Nike Tour playing experience.

Tim Calcagno
Tim Calcagno is a Class A PGA Pro with 25 years of
teaching experience. Tim enjoyed a stellar playing career as a
junior and amateur at state and national level. Tim also played
several Mini Tour and PGA events.
Teaching became a passion while he studied with Dr. Bob Rotella,
David Leadbetter, Hank Haney, Jim Flick and other noted golf coaches
and sports psychologists. Tim's roster of students range from beginner
golfers to PGA and LPGA players. Several of his junior and amateur
students have become champions and some have attained college scholarships.
The enjoyment Tim feels when helping golfers make progress and
reach their potential make him an outstanding instructor, and an
asset to the Mel Sole Golf School.

Pawleys Plantation is a world class golf and resort community built
on the site of a former plantation and set amongst 582 acres of
natural wetlands, salt marshes and live oaks. The award winning 18-hole, Jack Nicklaus signature golf course

Their award winning chef prepares casual meals
daily in the grille room and elegant dinners in
the dining room. The ante-bellum style clubhouse
also houses our fully stocked pro shop. Other amenities
include tennis courts and swimming pools.

The Myrtle Beach Jetport is a 30 minute drive north and is served
by US Airways, Delta, Vanguard, Spirit Air, Air Tran and Continental.

Golf School Rates
Cancellation policy: Deposit less $50 per
person administration fee is refundable up to 30
days prior to start of school starting date. 14
to 30 days prior to school - loss of deposit. Less
than 14 days - loss of full amount - unless school
can be filled before commencement. The Mel Sole Golf School reserves the right to cancel or reschedule
programs as required by unusual circumstances and
is not responsible for any loss or inconvenience
